The Account Manager serves as the critical link between our clients and the agency.  The role’s success is based on the individual’s ability to establish trusted relationships with our clients through active listening and understanding of identified communication objectives. This individual demonstrates strategic and tactical leadership, has strong management skills and is committed to delivering work that “works.” Account managers are comfortable working with individuals at all levels within our client’s organizations and are able to work across cross-functional teams within the agency (strategy, analytics, project management, social, design, development and product design). This individual is also comfortable with prioritizing and leading all types of clients’ marketing projects from start to finish.

What we’d like to see:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a digital agency environment, ideally in business development, client services, and/or strategy.
  • 1 - 3 years of Project Management experience and/or working with project management teams is
    a plus.
  • Experience in a client services organization, preferably on projects with top-tier consulting firms or interactive agencies (including web, mobile, video, brand, and strategic consulting projects).
  • A comprehensive understanding of client business goals and strategic imperatives and the ability to help the team develop strategic deliverables including written and creative assignments that represent the client’s needs.
  • Ability to develop and champion communication strategies, marketing plans, and budgets.
  • Experience in defining scope for new products and features, communicating requirements and dependencies, and proactively identifying project roadblocks.
  • Desire and ability to consistently deliver new strategies/concepts beyond what is “expected” by our clients.
  • Experience with the development of large-scale websites, native applications and a strong understanding of design, development technologies, third-party applications, and platforms. This individual should understand the work we do—and the new things we can be doing—as well as understand our clients.
  • An ability to manage long term, multi-million dollar engagements with multiple project tracks and teams. A sharp mind, a good memory, and an attention to detail are absolutely key.
  • Experience with iterative models and methodologies (e.g. agile, scrum, lean) and working with development teams, product owners, and other stakeholders to implement new features.
  • Comfort interacting with clients of all levels and industry backgrounds, from the CEO to administrative support staff. They need to know intuitively how best to facilitate the relationship between PRPL and our clients in any given situation.
  • An ability to manage and set client expectations. You combine the client's needs and our awesome abilities and you figure out the way to produce stunning and effective work.
  • Possess the ability to contribute to and sell strategic concepts, drive initiatives, and represent the team and the Agency's values.
  • Ability to distill and interpret client feedback to communicate next steps and deliverables to the team in a timely manner.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Accept, qualify, and scope client project requests. Generate/manage the development of supporting scope of work documents and negotiate to signature/approval.
  • Lead Discovery sessions and manage output/action items with team/client.
  • Create supporting documentation and decks in order to provide current relationship details/most recent projects.
  • Maintain all client “opportunity” data within our project management system, including projected budgets, scoping documentation, and all client communications.
  • Prioritize internal communication to ensure that all relevant team members are aware of next steps.
  • Work with PMO (and Resourcing Manager) to qualify and vet desired/potential timelines.
  • Work with internal Subject Matter Experts to ensure that estimates and SOWs are comprehensive and attainable.
  • Qualify budgets, negotiate deals through close, understanding the best contract type for each deal.
  • Assist PMO  in working with clients to identify projects in pursuit of earning all funds for blanket time and materials POs.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients. Perform check-ins at a comfortable cadence to understand new opportunities.
  • Maintain the health of Embedded Resource projects and ensure renewals are handled in a timely manner.
  • Stay up to date on client and competitor activities (brand, news, digital presence, social trends and channels).
  • Travel for relationship building, scoping workshops, etc. as required (estimated quarterly).
  • Work with the contributing PMs to the create project statements of work by documenting and providing assumptions, risks, mitigation plans, timeline and project plan for all new business opportunities.
  • Complete due diligence efforts based on any risks and project assumptions to ensure that scopes and timelines can be met.
  • Ensures smooth running of finances, contracts and administrative systems by providing strong project management abilities.
  • Assumes role of senior day-to-day client contacts - develops and cultivates a strong relationship with the client team.
  • Supports or leads marketing activities, including, but not limited to video, digital, email, and social campaign development/management/reporting.
  • Works with team to deliver strategic business strategies and POVs to help further client’s business
